Overview
The Technology Innovation Institute (TII) is Abu Dhabi's applied research institute. Its Artificial Intelligence and Digital Science Research Center (AIRC) is one of nine research centres at TII.
TII is best known for the Falcon family of large language models, which it has released as open source and which have ranked among the world's top open models since 2023. The family includes Falcon 3 (2024) and Arabic-focused Falcon models. In 2025 TII announced a partnership with NVIDIA to set up an AI and robotics research lab in Abu Dhabi.
